Best Supporting Actress winner Viola Davis looked fabulously glamorousat tonight"s Oscars, taking to the red carpet in lipstick-red draped, halterneck gown which was custom-made for her by Armani and chunky gold jewellery by Niwaka. The finishing touch?A co-ordinating pair of sky-high satin platforms by Stuart Weitzman.

But once the Fencesactress had given her emotional acceptance speech, she soon changed into a more comfortable pair of platform trainers. And who can blame her?

Davis"s stylist, Elizabeth Stewart, posted an photo from backstage at the awards which showed the Weitzman heels being swapped for an equally sassy, but more comfortable, pair of trainer-platformsby Los Angeles-based shoe brand, Y R U. It"s a move which women the world over will relate to.

"With brilliant team member @jennybrunt1 backstage at the ready with @yrushoes platforms for comfort," Stewart wrote."Thanks @stuartweitzman for carrying Viola to the win!"

The 51 year-old actress was soon celebrating her Oscar win in comfort- and style- with her husband, Julius Tennon, and daughter, Genesis.

With an evening of celebrations and after-parties ahead of her, Davis"s decision to change into something a little more comfortable once her onstage moment was over seems only sensible and a very clever piece of forward planning.

With her win, Davis became the first black actor to be awardedTony, Emmy and Academy awards. In her acceptance speech, she paid tribute to August Wilson, the playwright who originally wrote Fences.

???People ask me all the time, what kind of stories do you want to tell, Viola? And I say, exhume those bodies, exhume those stories, the stories of the people who dreamed...I became an artist, and thank god I did, because we are the only profession that celebrates what it means to live a life.So here???s to August Wilson, who exhumed and exalted the ordinary people.???

Meanwhile, Stewart spoke earlier this week of Davis"s no-nonsense approach to her red carpet style.???The interest in what Viola???s wearing is way greater than the attention she pays to it,??? she toldVanity Fair. And while many Hollywood actresses expendserious time and energy poring over outfit possibilities and collaborating on the style they will present to the world, Davis appears to be impressively efficient about the process.???I would say I???m like the dentist to her,???Stewart added, explaining that fittings with Davis were usually over within five minutes.

Despite the impressive speediness of her dressing decisions, Davis has carved out a reputation for her simple yet powerful looks which have always been vividly colourful but devoid of too much glitz."Color, clean, strong, bold" were the buzzwords Stewart listed as being integral to any Davis look.

Tonight, we can add "comfy" to that list too.The trainer-swap isa refreshing move from Davis in a world where "no pain, no gain" is the usual mantra.
