MARCO ZANINI is the latest designer to be linked with soon-to-be revived fashion house Schiaparelli. It is not yet known what role the Italian designer would take and nothing has been officially confirmed, WWD reports.

Zanini started his career as Domenico Dolce's assistant at Dolce & Gabbana, before joining Versace as head of womenswear ready-to-wear and haute couture, working directly with Donatella Versace. In 2007, he was made creative director at famed US heritage brand Halston, but left in July 2008.In November the same year, he was hired as creative director of Rochas.

Schiaparelli was bought by Tod's Group chairman and CEO Diego Della Valle in 2006.The brand will relaunch in June or July this year.Designers to have been mooted as the label's creative director include John Galliano and Erdem Moralioglu - speculation that was dismissed by both parties.
