MULBERRY has elected to remain tight-lipped this morning, as more names are thrown in to the swirling pot of designers said to be in line to take over at the British brand.

Representatives issued us another "No comment" following speculation on WWD that Johnny Coca - design director for leather goods, accessories, shoes and jewellery at Céline - is now the frontrunner.

Recent additions to the possible contenders list include Blue Farrier, recently departed from Issa, and Hannah MacGibbon, former creative director of Chloé.

Dozens of designers - from Erdem to Victoria Beckham - have been linked with the vacant post since Emma Hill left in 2013, but the brand asserts that the announcement will take place only when the time is right.
