The royal blues:The Duchess of Cambridge wears Jenny Packham for a matchy-matchy family fashion moment in Canada
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge"s tour to Canada is the first they have embarked upon as a family-of-four (when the couple went to India and Bhutan in April, George and Charlotte stayed at home). So, fashion-wise, it was always going to be interesting to see how the quartet approached giving a coherent message through their clothing.
When they landed in Victoria, British Columbia on Saturday afternoon, it was apparent that the diplomatic consideration which The Duchess has often shown through her fashion choices this time extended to the outfits worn by her husband and children too.All in blue- picking out one of the main colours of the flag of British Columbia- the family offered a very local tribute to their hosts.
The Duchess of Cambridge opted for a bespoke fitted dress by one of her go-to designers, Jenny Packham. In deep teal blue with gathered shoulders and collar detailing, the dress created elegant impact for arrival in Canada.
Besides the blue colour choice, there were other elements of The Duchess"s look which paid tribute to her host country. She emulated the red hat with maple leaf detailing worn on her first tour to Canada in 2011 by commissioning a similar style in blue by the same milliners, Lock & Co.
The Duchess had also pinned the maple leaf diamond brooch to her dress which she has once again borrowedfrom The Queen.Originally bought as a gift for Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother by King George VI when they went on tour to Canada in 1939, it has been a mainstay of Canadian royal tour wardrobes ever since.
Despite the long flight, Prince George and Princess Charlotte looked as adorable as ever in their matching blue outfits.
Prince George sported "big boy" shoes for the first time in a navy lace-up pair by Startrite. He also wore a ??42 blue jumper with wooden buttons over a ??39 smart checked shirt, both by Spanish childrenswear label, Pepa & co."Once again we are delighted that the Duchess of Cambridge has selected a Pepa & Co outfit for Prince George"s arrival in Canada. We are sure the youngest Royals will look adorable in any outfit they wear," founder Pepa Gonzalez told The Telegraph.

Even Prince William joined in the family"s matchy-matchy colour scheme in a navy suit with navy and burgundy striped tie.The blue hue in the waves of the British Columbia flag is said to represent the Pacific ocean which is on the coast of the region. While red might have been an obvious choicebeing the main colour of the Canadian flag, blue shows a more nuanced approach reflecting the fact that British Columbia and Yukon will be the focus of this week"s engagements.
